What are healthy longevity, anti-ageing or anti-ageing treatments?
We age because our tissues degenerate. It’s not simply “the passage of time”: it is the cumulative effect, day after day, of processes that gradually erode our cells and organs. Among the most decisive are five everyday factors that most people underestimate:
- The food we choose (and the food we don’t).
- Physical activity — whether excessive, insufficient, or absent.
- Sustained stress, both physical and emotional.
- Environmental pollution we are exposed to.
- Medications accumulated over the years.
When these factors combine over decades, our body’s degenerative processes accelerate, opening the door to so-called degenerative diseases: cardiovascular, metabolic, musculoskeletal, and neurological conditions.
Biologically speaking, aging is the progressive loss of the body’s ability to repair what wears down.
The purpose of regenerative medicine is not simply to treat symptoms or stop disease once it appears, but something more ambitious: to repair tissues that are degenerating and, as far as possible, restore their original function.
If degeneration drives us toward aging and disease, regeneration works in the opposite direction: it repairs, restores, and reactivates. So the question becomes obvious: if regenerative medicine exists, why do we still age?
The honest answer is important to understand: while degeneration moves at Ferrari speed, regeneration is still on a bicycle. We age faster than we can currently regenerate. Science is advancing quickly, and every year the bicycle gets a little faster — but we still cannot truly “turn back” the biological clock.

How does anti-ageing regenerative therapy work?
Based on an initial assessment of the patient, we will be able to conclude what we need to do and how we are going to proceed with this person.
With that reality in mind, regenerative longevity proposes a balanced and realistic approach. It does not promise to stop time or “rejuvenate” you by twenty years. Instead, it focuses on two simultaneous actions:
- Reducing or eliminating all the factors that accelerate tissue degeneration.
- Regenerating, using today’s available technologies, the tissues that are already wearing down.
The goal is not to stop aging. The goal is to age without disease and without disability: to reach 70, 80, or 90 in a functional state that allows you to keep doing what you enjoy. Playing with your children or grandchildren. Continuing to work if you choose to. Traveling. Moving independently. Taking public transport without your body holding you back.
In short: continuing to live the life you chose, with the people you chose, doing what you love — without pain or physical limitations taking that away from your day.
Each cell ages differently.
There is another key idea to understand why this field requires personalized medicine: not all your cells age at the same rate. Not even two neighboring cells from the same tissue in the same person share the same “biological age.” Each one has its own internal clock, metabolism, detoxification capacity, and repair mechanisms.
And if your cells age differently from one another, they will age even more differently compared to those of your partner, sister, or mother. That is why there is no universal longevity protocol. Any serious approach must start from an individual diagnosis.
Our biological therapies are a natural tool for ageing better and improving people's quality of life.
Anti-ageing technology
At Clínica Planas, we have brought together under one roof the gold standard of regenerative medicine: the most advanced technologies on the market and professionals specifically trained in this field, with scientific publications and international medical society recognition. Three technologies currently form the core of our clinical treatments:
1.Plasmapheresis
Plasma is the medium through which nutrients, hormones, toxins, and inflammatory molecules circulate. Over time, it becomes “contaminated” with elements that accelerate aging and systemic inflammation. Plasma exchange helps cleanse this plasma, reducing the accumulated inflammatory and toxic load and creating a healthier environment for cellular function.
2.Hyperbaric chamber
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy involves breathing 100% oxygen inside a pressurized chamber. This dramatically increases the amount of oxygen delivered to tissues, activates cellular repair mechanisms, promotes the formation of new blood vessels, and improves the recovery of damaged tissues. It is one of the most clinically supported technologies in modern regenerative medicine.
3.Regenerative cellular therapies using monocytes
Cell therapy is probably the most advanced frontier in the field. Monocytes are immune system cells with strong reparative potential: when properly prepared and reintroduced, they help regenerate damaged tissues and regulate inflammation. It is a highly precise tool that, at Clínica Planas, is applied in a personalized way and always under medical supervision.
Benefits of anti-ageing therapies
Personalised regenerative medicine
Every patient is unique. Our approach involves creating a personalised plan for each individual. The primary aim is to maximise your body's ability to regenerate tissue, minimise oxidative stress, and significantly reduce inflammation.
Modern solutions. Zero pharmaceuticals.
The aim is to achieve the highest level of well-being without resorting to traditional pharmacological solutions.
It is not painful
The results are long-lasting
Healthy longevity
The body holds the key to self-regeneration. At Clínica Planas, we have the most powerful technology in Europe to regenerate damaged tissue quickly and effectively.
The aim is to prevent wear and tear over time.
How do we do it?
We activate the body's own biological processes to help our patients repair damaged areas of their bodies.
Slowing down ageing
By slowing down ageing and improving cognitive ability, our brain will be more active and our muscle condition will improve, enabling us to be more active, which is essential for good health: avoiding a sedentary lifestyle.
If a person feels comfortable and energetic, they will move more and engage in more physical activity, which strengthens their muscles and also reduces the possibility of degenerative ageing.
Treatment of chronic diseases
All degenerative diseases are associated with poor diet, a harmful microenvironment, and lack of exercise.
In many cases of chronic diseases, the hyperbaric chamber complements the other treatments we perform at the clinic.
F.A.Q.
-
What is anti-ageing?
We offer our patients the full range of anti-ageing (healthy longevity) treatments specifically designed to help them age and live their lives in a much healthier way.
-
What is anti-ageing regenerative therapy?
Anti-ageing regenerative therapy consists of regenerating tissues so that they do not age rapidly or degenerate. If the tissues degenerate, then, for example, the patient may develop osteoarthritis or Parkinson's disease, or they may have heart disease, respiratory failure, liver degeneration or kidney degeneration.
-
What constitutes an effective anti-ageing treatment?
An effective anti-ageing treatment is based on making a good diagnosis; and depending on that assessment, that will be what we treat. The goal is to maintain stability. In other words, we are going to supplement what the patient is lacking and remove what is excess. For example, if a person has a vitamin D deficiency, we will supplement it, but if they have an excess and are intoxicated with mercury, we will eliminate it.
-
Is it possible to attain the ideal pair: healthy longevity alongside a good quality of life?
Of course. That is what we aim for with anti-ageing regenerative therapy.
