Since the founding of Clínica Planas more than 50 years ago, offering our patients the latest technological advances has been part of our core mission. This is why we are pioneers in the application of Femtech technology, which has brought a revolution in the field of breast aesthetics.
In this post we explain what Femtech technology is, what its benefits are, and the main treatments.
What does Femtech mean?
Femtech means technology at the service of women. It refers to a series of technological advances, the result of years of research, that allow us to help women recover faster, look better, and feel better—without the drawbacks that, for example, traditional breast surgery may involve.
These are techniques designed to help women achieve their aesthetic goals without sacrificing their independence, allowing them to:
- Not need to take time off work
- Not require help during the postoperative period
- Continue with everyday activities such as driving, taking care of their children, or going out to dinner
In other words, the goal is to make recovery after a breast procedure easier, so that the patient’s autonomy is not limited.
This concept also includes the technology behind the development of certain types of implants, manufactured with new, more dynamic and ergonomic gels. These implants adapt very well to movement and to the lifestyle of today’s woman—one who exercises, works, takes care of her family, and enjoys an active social life.
These implants help achieve a very natural-looking breast not only when static, but also in motion, adapting to a woman’s daily activity.
Why is it such an important advancement?
The emergence of Femtech is important because it empowers women, in the sense that it allows them to do things that would otherwise require them to depend on other people. As a result, patients experience a much more manageable postoperative recovery compared to traditional surgery.
In addition to this independence, the natural results offered by this technology give women full control over who they choose to share their decision with.
Main Femtech Treatments
Mia Femtech™
Mia® is a technique that allows us to increase breast volume by one to two bra cup sizes—going from an A cup to a C cup—and enables the patient to return to her routine in as little as 90 minutes.
It is performed using silicone implants specially designed for this technique, which have a distinctive diamond shape. This means that instead of having one flat side like traditional implants, they project on both sides, providing greater volume with smaller implants.
Among the benefits of this technique are:
- No general anesthesia is used; only local anesthesia with light sedation.
- The procedure is performed through the armpit (axillary approach), which means:
The scalpel never touches the breast
b. The scar is completely hidden in the armpit - Breast tissues and ligaments are preserved.
- Express recovery: normal routine can be resumed after 90 minutes (excluding sports).
- It is a reversible procedure.
In summary, Mia Femtech™ allows patients to achieve the breast appearance they desire without sacrificing their routine, while offering natural and well-proportioned results that harmonize with their silhouette.
Preservé™
Preservé™ breast augmentation is designed to максимально preserve the natural anatomy of the breast, offering patients:
- Natural results, both now and in the future
- Faster recovery
We can define Preservé™ in five key points:
- It is performed using local anesthesia with sedation, without the need for general anesthesia.
- The implant is inserted through a minimal incision (between 2.5 and 3 centimeters) located in the inframammary fold, making the scar barely noticeable.
- Fast recovery: unlike other techniques, with Preservé™ the patient can move her arms naturally on the same day as the procedure. This allows her to carry out everyday activities such as getting dressed, styling her hair, or working.
- It allows the use of larger implants compared to the Mia® procedure, making it possible to achieve more significant volume increases.
- Breast tissues and ligament boundaries are preserved, which means:
The procedure is reversible
b. Breast sensitivity is not affected
In conclusion, Preservé™ is a minimally invasive technique that offers unique benefits by preserving the structure, functionality, and sensitivity of the breast, while still allowing the patient to achieve the desired result.
