Sagging Body Thermage
Effective fight against cellulite and flaccidity
The passing of time usually causes a certain loosening of the skin in the whole body, but there are some areas where sagging and parchment skin are more clear, such as abdomen, arms, inner thighs, knees, buttocks...
Nowadays, there are different techniques to solve the problem, but one of the safest and most effective that does not require surgery is radiofrequency - Thermage, a treatment specially suitable for tightening the skin in certain types of laxity.
Thermage is a non-invasive procedure that does not require surgery or injections, which tightens and renews the natural collagen of our skin.
It is aimed at people between 35 and 60 presenting sagging skin for different reasons: passage of time, after a huge weight loss, pregnancy, and that do not have a significant overweight. Also, certain post-surgery patients (face lift, eyelid surgery, liposuction, etc..) may obtain some benefits from the Thermage effects.
To understand how Thermage works, it is useful to know first how our skin works. Our skin is made up of three layers: the outermost or epidermis; the intermediate called dermis, where most of our collagen lies; and the inner layer below the dermis, called subcutaneous layer, which also has a network of collagen fibers. When the collagen in these layers is damaged by the effects of sun exposure, family heritage or the normal aging process, the skin tends to sag and wrinkle.
Thermage technology is applied to the skin with a tip that safely heats the dermis and the collagen network of the inner layer, thus remodelling the existing collagen and stimulating the formation of the new one. In each tip application (for good results it is required the application of about 500 to 1200 pulses), the patient experiences a brief and deep heating sensation while the radiofrequency energy is emitted into the skin and the tissue underneath. This deep heating sensation is an indicator that collagen is reaching the ideal temperature for the tightening.
In order to protect the skin and to make a more comfortable treatment, the skin surface is cooled before, during and after each application of radiofrequency. This cooling system keeps intact the surface layer of the skin and allows the patient to return to his/her regular life immediately.
It is a totally painless treatment that does not require any type of anesthesia.
How long does the treatment last?
Contrary to other types of treatments, this treatment lasts just one session of 30 minutes to 2 hours, although it can vary depending on the patient and the area to be treated.
