This tissue responds to hormones in the same way it would inside the uterus, which can lead to different symptoms and changes throughout the body.<\/p>\n<p>From a broader perspective, understanding what endometriosis is means recognizing that it is not just a gynecological condition. It may appear, for example, as:<\/p>\n<p>1.\tpain during menstruation<br \/>\n2.\tpain before menstruation<br \/>\n3.\tlower back pain<\/p>\n<p>Pain may also occur in areas where endometriotic tissue is present outside the uterus, such as:<\/p>\n<p>1.\tin the lower back (causing lower back pain)<br \/>\n2.\tin the pelvic area (causing pelvic pain)<br \/>\n3.\tin the kidney (causing kidney pain)<br \/>\n4.\tin a scar (in this case, it will cause pain when the scar tissue becomes inflamed)<\/p>\n<h3>Premenstrual syndrome<\/h3>\n<p>Many patients experience severe premenstrual syndrome, with emotional changes, irritability, or bleeding before menstruation. In some cases, periods can be debilitating, making it necessary to take anti-inflammatory medication in order to carry out daily activities. Some women may even experience dizziness, nausea, or vomiting.<\/p>\n<h3>Fatigue or tiredness<\/h3>\n<p>The inflammation associated with the disease can cause persistent fatigue, a lack of energy, and digestive problems related to the microbiota.<\/p>\n<h3>Recurrent infections<\/h3>\n<p>Some women with endometriosis experience recurrent infections, such as urinary tract infections or candidiasis. Many patients have increased estrogen activity and relatively low progesterone levels.
