Excessive sweating

Hyperhidrosis refers to the excessive perspiration that usually occurs on the palms of the hands, soles of the feet or armpits, although it can also occur in other zones of the body, such as the head or face.

Botulinum toxin is the only non-surgical alternative as it interrupts the hyperactivity of the sweat glands. The product is injected into the affected area using an extremely fine needle. This is an easily tolerated procedure that is safe and has been shown to be effective, while improving patients´ quality of life.

The effects can last between 4 months and one year, depending on the zone and the particular characteristics of each case (the average duration for excessive sweating in the armpit, for example, is 7 months).

Botulinum toxin treatment does not require hospitalization and is carried out by a specialist in his/her office.

Once the treatment has been given, normal activity can be resumed immediately without any noticeable change.

The results of the Botulinum Toxin treatment become visible after the third or fourth day and, over the next two weeks, patients will notice a gradual reduction in sweating in the treated area.
